Contact us to join Izvorul as a dancer, singer or musician!

Izvorul Romanian Ensemble of Ottawa-Gatinea is a non-profit organization founded in 2010. We teach and practice various Romanian folkloric dances, and perform at festivals and occasions, showcasing the Romanian culture and talent while promoting multiculturalism.

"Izvorul" is the Romanian name for the water spring in the moutains, and the ensemble embodies its meaning as it is to date the largest and longest-lasting Romanian dance troupe in the region of Ottawa-Gatineau.

Izvorul has numerous performances throughout the year. Previous venues include Le Mondial des cultures de Drummondville, Ottawa City Hall, the Canadian Tulip Festival, Ottawa's Carnival of Cultures, Canada Day celebration in the capital, the University of Ottawa and Carleton, the International Food Festival, la Journée mondiale du réfugié and GreekFest.

Izvorul's original troupe has been proudly promoting Romanian culture and traditions through music and dance since March 2010. This main group is comprised of teens and adults of all ages.

We welcome members of all nationalities. The instructors are fluent in Romanian, English and French. No prior experience required.
